God's Thumbprint

Majestic isn't it? Lions are such beautiful creatures and we can't help but notice how God's thumbprint is all over creation. He is so infinite and full of wonder. We got to visit the Aquila Game Reserve today, as a team, and we had such a blast. Even though we were up early and the day started of rainy and wet... God provided and gave us a beautiful afternoon. We took the day off from the Academy and Sweet Home to experience a little bit of rural South Africa and just enjoyed every second of it.

This is Josh's take on the day :)

Josh: Today after we came back from the Aquila Game Reserve we had a talent show with the students here at Bridges. The students and our Rock Harbor group performed many different acts like poems, songs, dances, skits, balloon animals and card tricks. One of the skits that was very moving. It was about a young girl who was raped and beaten by her step father who threatened to kill her. While this was a painful drama to watch, it gave the students a way to express themselves in a way that they might otherwise not have been able to do so. Clearly many of them have experienced profound pain in their lives. Please keep praying for students that God will use their pain for his glory.

  1. Its hard to read these posts without emotion. Thou your words are descriptive, I can only imagine the hardship, pain, joy and wonder. You have be with great comfort that each one of you linked together like a well worn blanket. Spreading yourself in a way most of us can never imagine. Know your strong voices are being heard and felt, if only thru my mind. Having you home will sadden many in S.A. but being relief and joy to your friends and family. I hope you journey is full of peace, love and support. Prayers continue as usual. Keep a smile on your face, its warms many hearts.

  4. Dear God: Thank you for Stephanie and each one of this SA team. I may never have met them in person, but I feel like I've come to know and love them through this blog journey. Thank you for choosing each one of them as your child and allowing them the privilege of this Missions trip. Though they have experienced such sorrow and pain, I believe their lives have been enriched by being there. I have been touched just by reading their testimonies and felt a partnership with them. Bless them as they pack up to leave for home and fill their hearts with a peace knowing that they will forever not be gone altogether as a slice of themselves will forever be in SA in the lives they have touched and loved. I pray that you will fill them with a special joy and peace that only You can give. Grant them a safe and restful journey home to their loved ones who will be waiting anxiously. Thank you for being a Mighty God, Omnipresent and Omnipotent that will continue the good work that you have begun. In His Holy Name, AMEN!

  5. Oh, the talent show...I know you all must have seen/heard some amazing things that night! I am especially moved by the fact that some were brave enough to do such a dramatic skit. Those kids are so amazing.
I pray you all have a fun, safe and memorable last few days and know you have been thought of and prayed for many times. Know that those kids are so blessed by you; by your willingness to be open and listen and love them unconditionally.

Miss you Em & can't wait to see you! I renewed my DLand pass! ;)

  6. Keep up the good work. some of the most significant times God has spoken to me about healing, He used dramas to show me what He would be about to do. Stay tender and strong. Lots of people praying for you all. The incense of Christ, to some it's the smell of death, to others it's the smell of victory. Thanks to your efforts, He will be the smell of victory to way more people.
