First of all, we want to thank everyone for their prayers and comments that encourage and uplift us daily. We'd like to share 2 important prayer requests with you, as we know you are being faithful in supporting this trip and team through prayer.
* 3 team members have been hit hard with sickness that have had them out of commission for days at a time. The other 2 are back and healthy, but we are one man down because of the sickness. Please pray for complete healing and that it won't spread to anyone else.
* As the team was headed out to Sweet Home, we received a call that there was some civil unrest in the townships. The local leaders we work with strongly recommended that we turn around. The team returned to Bridges, and ended up having a productive and blessed day serving at the Academy and being part of the first day of our HIV/AIDS education program- which in the end we believe was part of God's plan for today, as intimate conversations took place. Please pray for the townships- for safety, order, and peace. Please also pray for the local and team leaders to have good discernment as to what the next days look like. We do not want the enemy to have his way and disrupt the work and blessings that have been taking place in Sweet Home through the workshops, VBS, and loving on the precious children. But please know that if there is any reason at all that it is not safe for us to go, we will not take the chance and make sure everyone's safety is of utmost importance. Prayers are most, most appreciated.
Being of service shows that God is willing to use us. When God uses us our faith increases. You guys are true unprofitable servants of God.
ReplyDeleteLuke 17:1-10 God Bless Brighton Truax
We are praying for God's blessings to continue, and pray wisdom that the teams aren't sent out in harms way. May our Lord give you wisdom in making those decisions
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for the entire teams safe return
Praying for all you guys! Protection in Sweet Home, and everywhere you Go! Know that we are missing you guys and talking of you a lot. The pictures look great! Hoping that the parachute game and sing-alongs are putting smiles on the faces of many children! How are things at the Academy? Hoping for healing for the sick too... not fun to be sick, no, never. Stay focused on the Lord, even in your trials! Looking forward to another blessed week in SA!
ReplyDeleteDear team, don't let these things discourage you or overwhelm you. Wherever the movement of God is, there is also opposition. Stay faithful to praying and seeking God's face diligently. The good news: Christ is victorious in ALL things. Not some things. Not most things. ALL things.
ReplyDeleteI spoke to the Andre's and Miss Emily and we will be fasting for you guys tomorrow. May the Lord our God bring comfort, peace, rest, joy and healing to the team.
I was praying in the car, and felt God put this verse on my heart. Not sure if it is for one of you individually or generally, but thought I would share it with you. Comes from Isaiah 49:7-12.
Thus says the LORD,
the Redeemer of Israel and his Holy One,
to one deeply despised, abhorred by the nation,
the servant of rulers:
“Kings shall see and arise;
princes, and they shall prostrate themselves;
because of the LORD, who is faithful,
the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”
Thus says the LORD:
“In a time of favor I have answered you;
in a day of salvation I have helped you;
I will keep you and give you
as a covenant to the people,
to establish the land,
to apportion the desolate heritages,
saying to the prisoners, ‘Come out,’
to those who are in darkness, ‘Appear.’
They shall feed along the ways;
on all bare heights shall be their pasture;
they shall not hunger or thirst,
neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them,
for he who has pity on them will lead them,
and by springs of water will guide them.
And I will make all my mountains a road,
and my highways shall be raised up.
Behold, these shall come from afar,
and behold, these from the north and from the west,
and these from the land of Syene.”
Hope it encourages.
Um, Lailanie... you are a crazy talented writer. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Please send Nathan my love. I miss, miss, miss you! Praying through Ephesians 1-4 as you asked. :)

PS: Be safe, but not too safe.

ReplyDelete"And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD."
